 Virtual Teacher/Tutor

The Differentiating Minds Tutor is responsible for creating rich differentiated learning experiences for scholars using traditional and unconventional methods.

 

We are seeking energetic and motivated individuals who not only want to tutor and teach but want to help develop the whole child. Our tutors make real-life connections to instructional content while developing social skills and building confidence.

Position Requirments

  • Prepare for instructional sessions with appropriate materials and resources

  • Set lesson goals and milestones

  • Collaborate with parents and teachers to evaluate student needs

  • Be open-minded to new methods of learning and teaching

  • Deliver effective, appropriate, and engaging instructional lessons

  • Provide encouragement and positive motivation

  • Prioritize tasks and perform task simultaneously 

  • Formally and informally assess student abilities based on grade-level content

  • Document notes and progress during tutoring sessions to accurately follow up with student and parent/guardian

  • Effectively communicate with parent/guardian about session, strengths, and deficiencies

  • Provide owner with timely feedback, documentation, and notes from sessions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Experience working with children

  • Friendly, inviting, and confident

  • Ability to develop a positive rapport with a student

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with adults and children 

  • Strong Math, Reading, and Writing Aptitude

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and perform task simultaneously 

  • Ability to work afternoons/early evenings and weekends (2-4 times/week)

  • Reliable transportation

  • Compensation is based on the applicant’s education level and experience
